Laurel Jones Childs Scholarship Fund



 A charitable scholarship fund has been established within the Lake County Alumni organization to honor the work and life of alumna Laurel Jones Childs (LCHS 1976).  Laurel's career in education of over 20 years was her Christian ministry to young children and their families.  It is the goal of this fund to offer a scholarship each year to a female or male graduating from Lake County High School, who has been accepted into college and has chosen Education as her or his major.  It is the desire of the Alumni Association to give the award to someone who shares Laurel's values and pledges to pass those on to the children she or he teaches.

Missing/Damaged Class Composites

I am working with the school and James Strayhorn to repair or restore composites.  The following composites are badly faded and need restoration:  70 73 75 76 77 The following composites are missing:  69 72 82 83 90

The cost to restore the faded class photos are $375 for up to 75 photos.  If there are more than 75 graduates or faculty photos are to be added, there is an additional fee.  We will use the same frames.  The cost for missing ones are appoximately $500 for replacement of compsite (up to 75 photos) and framing.  


 We hope that each class can assist in the fundraising to have these composites replaced. Please let me know if you are able to help
