I have been married nearly thirty-five years and have two (2) sons. I went to work for the US Postal Service in 1982. I started out in the Tiptonville P.O. as a part-time flexible. I went full time in 1984 as Postmaster in Wynnburg. Since then I have been OIC (officer-in-charge) in Bogota and Hornbeak; and Postmaster in Samburg and Troy. I retired in 2006. My husband retired, this year, from Goodyear. Our grandchildren take up a lot of our time----they are a joy! While my sons were growing up they attended Lake County Schools. I was very active. I was a member of the Booster Club and served as president and I was also a member of the Lake County School Board of Education. In 1995 I was, the first woman, elected chairman of the board. During my tenure on the school board,Roland Pope served as superintendent. He was our, American History, teacher while we were in high school. It was an honor to work with him; he was truly dedicated to our school system. All in all my life, so far, has been very full.

Most influential person in school:

Ms. Martha Bryant

School Story

I enjoyed being in the L.C. Marching Band. We not only marched during halftime, at football games, we participated in all types of parades and competed, with other bands, in marching contest. It was a lot of after school practices in the hot, cold, rain and wind but it was worth it. Pete Evans, was one heck of a band instructor. Unfortunately, Mr Evans, passed away a few years ago; but, we will always have our memories.

Most embarrassing school story:

I'm sure there were many but I can't recall any right now
